1. Data Controller

Qahani Limited ("we", "us", "our"), Company number: 16901405, is the data controller for the Fasting App.

2. Data We Collect

The Fasting App is designed to work fully without an account, and most people will never send us any data at all.

• On your device (always): the start and end times of your fasts, your fasting goal, and app settings. This never leaves your device unless you choose to sign in.
• Account info (only if you sign in): email address and password. Passwords are managed by our authentication provider (AWS Cognito) and are never visible to us in plain text.
• Synced fast data (only if you sign in): the same fast start/end times and goals, so they can sync across your devices.

We do not collect weight, mood, location, health metrics, or any data beyond the fast timestamps you enter yourself. The App does not diagnose, treat, or give advice about any medical condition, and the data described above is not used for that purpose.

3. How We Use Data

• Provide and maintain the App
• Sync your fasts across your devices, if you choose to sign in
• Let you export your own data or delete your account on request

4. Legal Basis

We process your data under UK GDPR:

• Performance of contract for account creation and cross-device sync
• Consent for creating an optional account in the first place

5. Sharing Data

• Account and sync data is processed by AWS (Cognito, DynamoDB, API Gateway) under contract, hosted in the EU (eu-west-1)
• App updates are delivered via Expo's update service
• We do not sell personal information, and we do not share your data with advertisers

6. User Rights

You may:

• Export your fast history at any time from Settings (as a JSON file)
• Delete all local data on your device from Settings, at any time
• Delete your account and all synced server data from Settings, which also removes your account from our authentication provider
• Access, rectify, or object to processing of any data we hold about you by contacting us (see below)

7. Data Retention

• Local, on-device data is retained until you delete it or uninstall the App
• Synced account data is retained until you delete your account, at which point it is removed from our servers within 30 days
• We do not currently use analytics or crash reporting in the App. If this changes, we will update this policy first

8. Security

We use industry-standard security, encryption in transit, and access controls to protect your data.
